Shhh...a Secret to Share

Ok, so from around the beginning of April 2011 until the end of April 2012 I had some additional pieces added to my hair.  I had, what is called, a sew-in.  Basically, it's when your actual hair is braided up, and extensions are sewn in.  I kept it at a realistic length, kept the front of my hair exposed, and have a fabulous hair dresser that made sure it was styled in a way that looked as natural as possible.

Basically, I was trying to grow my actual hair and knew since it was so short that I needed a solution that would allow my natural hair to have a break for a while.  I also didn't want to be bothered with my hair while in labor with Joshua, and wanted to be half way decent in pictures.  LOL, yes I was trying to still keep it cute!

I got it re-braided every so often, but didn't wear my natural hair for almost a year!  When I finally did take out the sew-in, my natural hair was longer than the sew-in I had!  So, here is a picture of me with the sew-in back in March 2012

April 7, 2012 I took it out, and here I am with my natural hair. It was actually longer than this, but once she cut it to make it even and such this is what it looked like.

It is not as thick as I would like for it to be, but I'm happy with the growth!  I'm interested in seeing how long it will get!
