Nordstroms...

I love this pic! LOL!! Darnell and I went out to Partridge Creek and decided to take Biff along. Boy was that a mistake! Even though Biff would go out there with me during the Summer last year, for some reason he was not feeling it that night. He wouldn't go into any of the stores, so I would have to pick him up. While we were outside, he HAD to sniff everything that he past, and it was WAY too cold for that!

On the way out, I went to the ladies room, and when I came out this is what I saw. I just had to take a pic! I wish Darnel wasn't holding my purse for I would probably get it printed off...LOL!

Awesome Co-workers!!!!

My co-workers surprised us earlier this week by purchasing an item off of our registry...the changing table!! This was the last piece of the furniture that needed to be purchased for the nursery. Darnell put it together that night, so it is up and ready to go!

30 week baby bump

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 30 weeks!

Size of Baby: According to babycenter.com the baby should be around 3 pounds

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I haven't been weighed since my last Dr's appointment which was almost 2 weeks ago. I was surprised to see that I've already gained the minimum weight they said I would gain during the pregnancy which was 25 pounds. YIKES!!!!!

Maternity Clothes: I have 3 pair of maternity work pants, and 3 pair of jeans. Everything else that I wear are regular clothes.

Movement: BY is always on the move, but it seems like I feel him/her more mid-day while I'm at work. The kicks are definitely getting stronger. I was kicked the other day, and it actually hurt!!

Symptoms: Good ole heartburn, I'm starting to get sleepy a lot again, and frequent visits to the bathroom has returned.

What I Miss: Sleeping on my stomach, sleeping on my back, a glass or two of wine, working out, and COFFEE!!

Girl, Boy, or Team Green: It's a surprise!!

Cravings: Mustard!

Is your nursery done? Yup! Crib is up, chest is up, chest is up, bookshelf is up, and changing table is up!!

29 Weeks - Baby Bump

I'm huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

7 months...I'm afraid to see what 8 & 9 months holds LOL! I'm still doing well this month. My good old stalker heartburn still wants to be my bff, and getting up from the sofa seems to get harder and harder! LOL! Task as simple as zipping up my boots, putting lotion on my legs/feet, or picking something up off the floor is now a challenge.

BY is becoming more and more active. I love to sit back and watch my stomach move, or feel body parts and try to guess what it is. BY's kicks are starting to get stronger, and I can't lie...some of those kicks are starting to hurt!! However, I love every moment of it!!

I've been trying to remain as active as possible. I'm not in the gym, but started back going on walks with Biff, play MJ Experience on Wii whenever possible, and Darnell and I just completed the beginner course at Fred Astaire Dance Studio which lasted a couple of months. We both really enjoyed going to dance class every week, and was able to learn the beginning moves of the foxtrot, rumba, salsa, and a few other dances I cant' recall.

Overall, I'm still thankful for such a wonderful pregnancy thus far, and can't wait to meet BY!!

This Weekend - The good & The bad...

This weekend was eventful in both a good and a bad way. It started off with my hubby, my father, and I attending the Pistons vs Heat game. We purchase those tickets months ago, and had awesome seats! We were the third row off the floor, and ended up sitting right behind Judge Mathis, Aretha Franklin, and Jessie Jackson. It was nice to be at the game, but the Pistons lost by like 20 points, so it wasn't much of a game!

Saturday was where the bad happened. During the day I didn't have much planned. I just kind of hung around the house, until it was time to head out to the movies. I had plans to go to the movies and out to dinner with my two sister in-laws, and Darnell's cousin. We were going to see Mooz-lum at the AMC in Dearborn. The movie started at 7p, so I left my house around 6:30p. While on 696 freeway heading westbound near Mound I was unfortunately in a car accident. I was driving in either the far left lane or the next lane over when all of a sudden a green car came across the freeway sideways (front of the car coming towards me) from what looked like the exit lane! There was a crossover next to me on the right hand side, so I couldn't get over. The green car came across so fast that it was just enough time for it to fly past me, and I just hit the tail of the car. The green car then spins around, and was facing on coming traffic. I was able to pull over, and see in my rearview mirror that the car was able to pull over safely on the exit ramp.

I instantly called 911, and 30 minutes later the State Police arrives!!! I was shaking, and so scared...everything happened so fast!! I was unable to speak to anyone that was involved in the accident since we were all pulled over at different parts of the freeway. When the police finally arrived, I was able to find out that the green car stated that someone cut her off trying to exit so I guess that made her loose control of her car. All I know was that I was blessed to be able to walk away from that accident with no damage to myself, and minimal damage to my car. It just proves that you can be the safest driver in the world, but you don't have any control over what another driver and what they do.

Needless to say I went home after that...

28.5 Week Baby Bump

I slacked once again with this weeks picture. Here it is almost week 29, and I just posted week 28! Oh well, here it is. Bigger and Bigger!! I text'd this picture to a friend and her response was "whoa girl! that might be a toddler in there :)"

MOOZ-lum Screening

So, my sister has been home since Thursday "on business". She has only been in NYC for about 2 weeks, but it was really nice to have her home!! There were a couple of screening's of the movie Mooz-lum in Detroit, so we got a chance to see it at the Charles H. Wright museum. Darnell and I both thought it was a great movie, and would recommend for people to go out and see it on 2/11/11 when it goes to AMC theatres.

After the movie they offered question and answer with the Director/Writer, Producer, and part of the cast. I must say, it was very inspiring to listen to this young group of people talk about their journey to follow their dreams. Especially the Director, Q, who is only in his 20s yet he is about to release a movie that will be in theaters, and that has such actors as Evan Ross, Roger Smith, Danny Glover, and Nia Long. To hear his story of where he started and where he is today was a true inspiration. I'm glad that my sister is blessed with the opportunity to intern with someone like him. I'm sure she will learn a lot!

Love & Basketball

My friend Jennifer hosted a Super Bowl party in her new home. Her house is absolutely beautiful, and feels so warm! I had a blast at the party watching the game, socializing, and stuffing my face. However, I would say one of the highlights of the event was watching all the little ones that were there play in their own little world. Below is Madison and Chris, who I like to call Love a & Basketball (if you haven't seen the movie...it's a must!). During the Black Eyed Peas halftime show Love & Basketball thought that they could put on a better performance, and I think they did!!!

Spinach Macaroni and Cheese

I saw a variation of this dish on Cooking with the Neely's. It got very high reviews, but it was just too many steps in it for me!! I would have loved to try it, but didn't feel like taking all of that time to make it. I noticed a similar recipe on the back of my kraft cheddar cheese bag during lunch, and decided to try it out. I followed it exactly with the exception of me omitting the bacon. So, instead of the drippings I just used regular clean oil.

It actually turned out pretty goood, and something I can see making again! I can see where the bacon probably would have set it off, but seeing that I don't eat bacon I will never know...

Spolied Dog!!!

I cannot blame anyone but myself on this! My dog, Biff, is so incredibly spoiled it's ridiculous! When we first got him he was super tiny, so I would carry him around everywhere. Now that he has gotten bigger, needless to say, he uses those 4 legs more! He still gets PLENTY of attention from everyone, but he feels all eyes should be on him 24/7!

Here is a clip of him FIRST thing in the morning. I had just turned on the light and the news to check the weather, and he is whining because my focus is the TV at the time! I have NO idea what we are going to do with him with the baby comes! I'm trying to get him out of this horrible habit that I created so he will feel comfortable once the baby comes. We shall see...

Snow snow go away!

This Winter has been a cold mess!! This is a picture after they predicted over 12 inches of snow! Yikes!! We actually ended up getting...I don't know...maybe about 6 inches or so. Still, that was a lot! Chicago got close to/over 2 feet! Even places like Texas, and Atlanta has been hit this year with snow and ice!

Olive Garden's Minestrone Soup

I love Olive Garden's minestrone soup, so I found the recipe about a year ago. It took a few times before I got it down, but it taste just like the real thing to me. Since it was SUPER cold, and they were predicting up to 12+ inches of snow, I thought this would be a good time to break out this soup. It was super good!! I also baked a chocolate cake...yummy!!!

Baby Young is on the Move!!

Baby Young (BY) appears to be a little camera shy. This baby will move all day long, but as soon as I pull out the camera it stops! I was finally able to capture some movements of the baby on my video camera on my phone. It's side ways...sorry.
