The second upstairs bathroom is under remodel. If you can recall, this is how the bathroom looked before. The new tile has been put in as well as the new tub. Next, the drywall and sink can be installed! It is coming along slowly, but surely!

Darnell's First Father's Day!
For our first Father's Day as a family we were up north in Ludington, MI for Darnell basketball tournament. On Sunday, Joshua and I gave Darnell his gift which was a personalized storybook entitled My Superdad. Throughout the book was pictures of Darnell being portrayed as a Superhero.
Here is a picture of Darnell just opening the gift. He was in total shock!

I was able to capture some video of him enjoying the book...
Gus Macker Ludington, MI
I am not sure what year this is for Darnell playing in the Gus Macker Basketball tournament, but I know they have been playing for a long time! This time around it was in Ludington, MI. Darnell had played there before, and came back telling me how nice it was so this time around he wanted Joshua and I to go up there with him. This was Joshua first road trip, and he did great! For the most part he slept, but when he was not sleeping he was singing and talking to us.
On the way up there we stopped in Muskegon for lunch and to do a little shopping which I'm glad we did because once we reached Ludington there was no shopping except for the local Meijer and Walmart! The weekend was still nice without much entertainment. The guys played basketball for most of the day, so when that was over it was time to eat, and rest up for the next day.
Here is Darnell doing what he loves!

In theme with the weekend, I decided to dress Joshua appropriately. He was given two Jordan onesie's, two Jordan booties, and a pair of Jordan gym shoes from one of Darnell's friends when he was first born. When it was first given to us, I thought that it wouldn't be until the end of the Summer until he would be able to wear it since the size is 0-6 months. However, everything but the gym shoes fits him perfectly now!!

We stayed at a lodging and breakfast place that was a little outdated, but nice. Here a few pictures of the outside.

Happy Pre-Father's Day
Darnell was scheduled to play in the Gus Macker Basketball tournament during Fathers Day weekend, so Joshua and I decided to take him out to dinner on Thursday to The Whitney. Of course the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and the service was great (except for our waitress), but the food was YUCK!! Neither one of us was impressed our our meals, and I know for sure I would not want to go back there for a meal! However, we had a great time with each other.
Here is father and son. Joshua did great at the restaurant. He slept for the first part, and when he woke up he was hungry. I had a bottle ready for him, so after he ate he was knocked back out!

My little man in his super cute sweater!

While waiting for the valet to pull around the car I decided to take a picture with the Detroit Tiger! I thought I looked cute that evening, but hubby said I looked like Claire Huxtable!

A little bit of this...a little bit of that...
It's been a while since I've updated my blog, so it's time to get up to date on what's been going on!
Darnell's cousin Al is getting married in July, so his bride to be, Satina has a beautiful bridal shower at the Marriott hotel in Southfield. Below is a picture of Joshua and his grandmother at the shower.

The Youngs Family Photo Shoot
I made the mistake of not booking a photographer prior to Joshua's arrival. I knew we were going to need pictures taken, but for some reason I figured I wouldn't have any issues booking a photographer after I gave birth. Boy o boy was I wrong!
After things settled with Joshua's arrival I started asking around for photographer referrals. A lot of the photographers that came highly recommended were either booked for months, or they didn't offer the packages we were looking seeking.
I reached out to the ladies on the knot that are ALWAYS so helpful with suggestions and recommendations. I was given a long list of referrals which I contacted each, but was able to happily book with Kate Lees from KBL Photography. She was able to get us in her schedule within days, and came out to our house (SO beneficial for a family with a newborn!). We were able to take our time, and I was able to nurse when Joshua became fussy and hungry.
Below are some of my favorite shots!

Memorial Day 2011
We decided to have a few people over for the Memorial Day holiday. Darnell BBQ the meat, and his mother made the sides. Everything was delish!! We just hung out on the patio and enjoyed each others company.
Kayla wanted to hold her cousin Joshua, so she as able to do so with the help of her Uncle. She is such a big help, and loves her little cousin!
