27 Weeks - Baby Bump

I know...I'm huge!! What scares me is that I'm not even 7 months yet! What's in store for me at 7, 8, 9 months! I'm happy that I don't think my face has blown up, I can still wear the same maternity pants I bought a few months back, and I'm still able to wear heels (even though I know it's frowned upon). I can't think of anything that I'm struggling with right now, so that is a blessing! I am trying to convince Darnell for us to get a 3D ultrasound. He saw some pictures online of the 3D images, and it kind of freaked him out. I figure that if we are not going to find out the sex let's at least get a sneak peak of how the baby looks! We decided to chat about it again at week 30, so stay tuned...

I'm another year older!!!!

Well, it's official...I am now another year older! Yesterday I celebrated my 31st birthday with the hubby and some friends. I must say, I had a great time!! My day started off with brunch at Beverly Hills Grill with 6 of my closest friends. I love that place!

Here is a picture of me at brunch. Don't be fooled...the fruit was just the beginning of my meal!!

The stylish Ashli made her fashionable appearance!
Super cute pic AP Court!
My BFF made a special effort to stop by for a moment prior to her game. She is a basketball coach for middle school girls! S/N: they won!!!!!

My AP Tonya with the super cute headband!!! LOL!

Then 4 of us met up with another friend at Revitalize Day Spa in Birmingham. There we enjoyed massages, mani’s, pedi’s, and facials! All of us left the spa feeling super relaxed.

Ty after her mani/pedi. She choose a super cute blueish/green color.

Ty & Mondraea chatting after their services.
An awful picture of me, but decided to post it anyway.

Still at the Spa before we moved on to the next spot.

After the spa, we kept the party going and went to a nearby Starbucks so I could use my Birthday drink offer. As usual we had a blast just chit chatting over coffee.
After I left my girls, it was time to head home and get ready for a night out with the Hubby! Darnell had made reservations at a restaurant downtown in The Book Cadillac Hotel called Roast. We had a blast and the food was A1!

After dinner we made a quick visit to his friends condo that lives in the building then we were off to a party Ronda was having at her house. The party was for her stepfather’s birthday, and a Welcome Home party for her brother that just moved back home from Tennessee.

Overall, I enjoyed myself hands down, and felt so much love from all of the calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, cards, and gifts I received! I’m already planning my 32nd Birthday…stay tuned! J

Cherie leaves for NYC...Bittersweet!

My sister was offered an awesome opportunity to intern in New York. She will be working with Director Q fro QProductions. Her first project will be assisting with the promotion of MOOZ-lum which is the most recent film by the director.

I gave her a good luck party, and themed it NYC, and theatre since she will be moving to NYC, for an internship in film. Below are some pics after everything was setup.

Here is a pic of all of the NYC themed food. We had hot dogs, pretzels, pizza, wings, popcorn, cheesecake, and regular cake.

Cherie's Movie Film Cake
I tried to create a red carpet sence. This is where all of her guest took pictures either when the entered or before they left. I also had a strobe light to give the effect that their picture was being taken as they walked the red carpet. Lastly, I had the sound effect of cameras and a crowd to top it off!
This was right next to the food. The lights was to give the look of NYC skyscraper buildings.
Cherie's train left at 3:20a from Ohio. So, the party had to end around 1a so Darnell and I would have enough time to drive her to the train station. Her train was actually delayed, so we didn't end up getting home until after 5:30a or so. Here is the pic of Cherie on the train...

Registry is Complete!

Darnell and I tackled the registry portion yesterday. The first stop was Babies r Us. Everyone there was SUPER helpful and informative! We were able to register for about half of the items there, then we moved on to Target where we completed the registry.

This week I'm starting to feel pregnant! I'm uncomfortable at times, I find it difficult to get up from the sofa at times, and sleeping can be rough. All in all I'm still doing pretty good, and can't really complain.

Next Piece of Furniture...the Chest!

After the crib was put up Darnell called me at work, and asked "so where are we going to get his mattress from". Notice he said "his"...he just knows it's a boy! LOL! Anyway, he ran out and purchased a mattress, and that's when it all started seeming so real!

In the picture below is him starting the chest. It was SO many pieces, but he tackled it in a few hours, and did an awesome job!!
Almost there babe...
The finished product!!!
Here is the progress of the nursery so far...it's getting there!

25.5 weeks - Baby Bump

Yes, I know I skipped to week 25. I slipped during week 24, but my last post was kind of in between weeks so that kind of made up for it! LOL! As you can see I'm getting bigger and bigger. During this week, I'm still feeling ok. No major issues...just tossing and turning through the night, and heartburn.

The Crib is Up!!

D took a couple of hours to tackle the crib. We are both pleased with it's outcome. Next, we have to get the chest, and bookcase up once they arrive!

Hubby hard at work!

Visiting Mom for her Birthday

Cherie and I went to visit our mom in Maryland for her birthday which was Jan 7th. We arrive first thing in the morning on that Friday, and had a great time! We had a tour of Maryland and Washington DC for most of the day before we ended up at dinner.

Saturday we had a fabulous breakfast then move on to a spa for manicures, and massages. The manicures were awesome, but we all felt as though the massages were kind of weird. Not sure why, but none of us really enjoyed them. After the spa, it was time to get ready for my mom's company's holiday party. It was at a local museum. It was extremely nice, and the food was amazing!!! I'm glad we had a chance to experience that with my mom.

Sunday, we just had time to eat breakfast then move on to the airport.

Here is a pic of Cherie while on the plane. She decided to stay up the night before on Skype, so she was out like a light on the plane.

Week 23 & 5 days - Baby Bump

The below picture isn't the most attractive by any means, but by the title you can see that I was way behind with posting this weeks picture! I had to post it when I thought of it before I forgot again. As you can tell I am definitely pregnant! Ha! I mentioned to my coworkers that I feel like I'm as big as a condo, so now I can live that down! Ha! When I sneezed this morning, my coworkers said "God bless you & God bless your condo" ha!

Still feeling good! I can't believe that I'm pushing 6 months!! Time is moving right along :-)

Did I just FEEL my baby!??!

While showering in our new bathroom I tend to stay in it longer since it's so nice inside! Every few minutes I'll crank up the water temperature until I can barely stand it. When I first starting feeling the baby I noticed that Baby Young would move like crazy when I showered in there! I just assumed that it didn't like the water, so I make sure I didn't keep the water on my belly. Plus I was concerned with the whole "pregnant women should be in hot tubs, Jacuzzi, etc", so I figured I shouldn't be playing in the hot water in the shower also.

Anyway, last night while in the shower the baby again was on the move! I reached to feel my stomach, and realized that it was extremely hard! Then as I started feeling around I think I started feeling actually body parts! I'm not going to lie, it actually freaked me out, and I started screaming! I've felt movement before, but never did I feel an actual body part...I just wasn't expecting that at all! When I got out the shower, and finally made my way downstairs to Darnell for him to feel, my stomach was back softer, and we couldn't really feel anything. That made me think that the baby was probably enjoying the water! LOL! Sorry Baby Young!
