Retirement Dinner for My Uncle (orginal post 12/28/09)

The day after Christmas my family and I gave my uncle a retirement party. He retired from the Post Office after over 30 years! He didn't want a big party, but something small with just the immediate family. We setup my family room to kind of look like a hall, and created a program for the dinner. Overall I think it turned out great, and he really enjoyed himself!

I created a program, and had a couple of centerpieces that represented my uncle.

Christmas in Our New Home (orginal posting date 12/28/09)

Christmas 2009 was a very good one! This was the first Christmas spent in our new house, and I hope this is just the beginning of many more to come! We actually didn't plan on having Christmas at our house this year because we had my uncle's retirement dinner the next day at our house, so I thought that would be too much. However, last minute around 10:30a Christmas morning it was determined that we would have dinner at the Youngs home! Everything turned out GREAT!

Happy Holidays (orginal posting date 12/23/09)

The holidays are here, and we've done a little to decorate around the house. Hubby wanted a real tree in the new house, so we put that in the family room, and the artificial one in the living room.

The Chapters that I am Writing...

I started a blog called, B. Young & Love It!! to follow my journey of becoming a makeup artist and while I remodel my home. However, I discovered that I wanted to document other parts of my life, so i decided to create another blog to do just that!

The day after Christmas we hosted a retirement party for my Uncle at our house. The whole family gave speeches, and at the beginning of my Aunt's speech she mentioned how life is in chapters, and we all writing chapters in our lives. I thought this would be an awesome title to my blog to document my chapters that I am writing for my life.
